My film is based on a story many will recognize. It is about being trapped in a place you hate and which is very hard to escape from. When you are trapped in this state of mind, you resort to all kinds of tricks to stay detached, but that may also be a form of self-punishment.
It may result in drug and alcohol abuse or self-destructive behaviour, or more ordinary things such as over-eating or sex-addiction; things that may appear to be liberating when they are in fact very destructive. This film may be of help to people who are suffering themselves, but also to families and friends who will gain a better understanding of those involved.”
