The Bergman Festival Box Office opens on March 17. Dramaten’s major, international festival of performing arts begins on May 27 and ends on June 6.
Aus dem Leben der Marionetten / The Life of the Marionettes, Salzburger Festspiele. The Life of the Marionettes is perhaps the most performed Ingmar Bergman production around the world. The Thalia Theater version is intense, moving and sophisticated.
Play reading: Through a Glass Darkly, Almeida Theatre, London. The Bergman Festival produces a reading of Ingmar Bergman’s Through a Glass Darkly in co-operation with producers Cate Blanchett, Andrew Upton, Andrew Higgie, Garry McQuinn and Liz Koops. Director: Michael Attenborough, artistic director of the Almeida Theatre, London.
La Douleur / The War, Les Visiteurs du Soir, Paris. A strong French trio – Dominique Blanc in a play by Marguerite Duras directed by Patrice Chéreau.

Eraritjaritjaka, Théâtre Vidy, Lausanne. First guest performance in Scandinavia by Heiner Goebbels, famous world-wide for his experimental productions.
Kreten en Gefluister / Cries and Whispers, Toneelgroep, Amsterdam. Ivo van Hove, collaborates with video artist Tal Yarden and stage designer Jan Versweyvelds on Bergman’s Cries and Whispers. The Festival’s first joint production with Toneelgroep Amsterdam, De Singel Antwerpen.
Obama Victory Speech Workshop, Staffan Valdemar Holm, director and artistic director of the Bergman Festival, has invited some of the leading theatres in Europe to participate in a workshop. Political theatre about the latest current events!
